gold rush

New colour crush alert = gold
This past few weeks I have been absolutely in love with anything gold. It all began when my Gorman Jemma Boots arrived in the mail. They are black ankle boots with gold elastic on the sides. They are perfect for me as I love trying new trends but didn't want to go all out and buy a gold jumper and risk looking like a xmas bauble.

It then got me thinking, what other gold trinkets are out there that can make or break an outfit? I think with trends like this which are definitely not here to stay, it is best to invest in an accessory, like a clutch or shoes, or perhaps even some sparkly gold eyeshadow.

hair tuck

I thought I'd do something a little different this month and focus on the newest hair trend known as the 'hair tuck'. For those of you who are thinking what on earth are you on about Stella! It is when your hair is tucked into your collar, roll neck or scarf.
The 'hair tuck' is also known as the 'instant bob'. The best way to achieve this look is with a roll neck jumper or a thick chunky scarf.

As we have hit May and the temperatures are getting lower, this trend is sure to take off any minute now.
Is it perfect for long hair because most people are unaware they are even doing it. Another benefit is the instant height and volume it gives for all those people struggling with flat hair syndrome in the dryer months.

emerald envy

As March has swiftly come to end and all my 21st Birthday celebrations are over, April is warmly welcomed as I anticipate this months new colours and trends.

Although my love for pale pink still continues I can feel a new colour crush forming on emerald green.
It is not a colour you see everyday, and most people would only own the odd 'statement' piece however, I think that we will be seeing more of it in the coming months. I know I will be investing in perhaps a knit or even a statement ring although definitely not a dress as I wouldn't want to risk crossing into medieval territory or even being mistaken for Princess Fiona from Shrek!

All in all I like this trend for autumn/winter and I think it will have you green with envy ;)

oversized

What springs to mind when you think of oversized? For me it is definitely a big thick cosy winter coat. I can just picture being all wrapped up in a big blanket coat on a cold winters day with a hot chocolate in hand. Mmmm.

Anything oversized is actually quite flattering, but only if paired with a contrast. For example tight jeans and an oversized top, or a fitted top and a big boofy skirt, or even some boyfriend style jeans. Ditto with a dress. Except definitely show some skin somewhere just to make sure that you're not just one big potato sack underneath!

pale pink

Right on top of my favourites list at the moment is the colour pale pink. It is a fashion trend that one cannot fault. It may also be known as a blush or pastel pink.

It is an easy colour to wear and looks great on every skin tone. It is the perfect colour to give your wardrobe a feminine touch without a dress or skirt.
Paired with grey, white or denim, this colour will take you through every season. Whether it be a knit, a scarf, a coat or even shoes - pale pink is the colour that should feature in every woman's wardrobe.

white

It is getting to that time of year when one needs to detox their summer wardrobe from graphic florals and noisy colours and tone it down to a more monochromatic palette. While not everyone will agree with this, it is never too premature to prepare for the colder months.

The focus of this post is white - a perfect start to ones monochrome palette. It's the one colour which will never fail to complete an outfit.

If someone asked me what my favourite colour was I would struggle to answer without being specific, but without a doubt white would be my favourite colour to wear. It is a colour that will go with anything even itself! My favourite combination is denim and white. This look is so fresh and simple yet really stands out in a crowd.

I believe every wardrobe needs a white shirt - white jeans - white dress - white jacket and a white silk top. Designers such as Sass and Bide, Victoria Beckham and Valentino have included cutouts and lace in their latest white collection and once again they have done no wrong.
